What if you have your own online course or program that you want to create? You know you have an area you are an expert in, you have so much value to give to the world but you don’t know how to market it to the world. Should you market it to the world or just aim for a 1,000 true fans?

Selling a digital course comes down to three factors. Having a great product, the right website, and sending traffic to the website.
Traffic Sources
First we can talk about how we will send traffic to our website (which is going to be a fine tuned landing page that converts 60% of traffic to a lead.)
For traffic we want to focus on social media and paid advertising. This is something that anyone can do regarldess of the size of their current network.
The best way to do this right now is with paid adverting on Facebook and Instagram. The results we get from this can vary greatly by how good a job we do at leveraging these traffic sources.
Facebook Ads
The best strategy for using Facebook Ads in this situation would be using Traffic ads that use a short video. The traffic ad then sends the use to our landing page. Other options that can work well would be sending them right to a messenger sequence for our lead magnet. If we are offering a lead magnet we can offer that by a request on Messenger. We then send them the bait through Messenger and then they have opted in to receive updates in the future. This gives you 10x the chance of actually having this person sign up for the class.
The fastest way to burn money on an ad campaign is sending traffic to a sales page without capturing any sort of information. Our only safety net there is having a retargeting pixel on our website. However, free follow up is even cheaper than the best retargeting ads.
If you are fortunate enough to have an existing network – leverage your connections by tapping into the overlap of audiences.
Retargeting Ads
Lets retarget not only our web traffic but also people who interacted with or watched 3 seconds of our video. These are warm leads in the digital world. Stay present in the mind of the consumer. Lets reach them at least two times a day. This is easy enough to do because Facebook has a setting to limit retargeting.
Instagram growth hack
If you aren’t using Instagram automation tools to drive traffic you are missing out on a huge traffic source. I’m not talking about automating post. This is about using a tool such as FollowLiker to automatically drive traffic to your Instagram profile by following and liking photos in a your common interest.
The Website
Fine tuned landing page that captures email and also starts a Messenger sequence. We are going to remind them when the course is launched and send information of value leading up to the launch.

Ask yourself what your audience needs – what is a piece of information they feel like they need to solve their current problem.

Follow up
Messenger sequence
Lets send a lead magnet in a Messenger sequence. A day later lets follow it up with a trip wire offer. I love the idea of using a physical book for a tripwire offer. Free plus shipping. They might not jump into a $396+ course, but they would love to get some value from a $7 book deal. After that, they read your book and realize how much value you have to offer. They buy the course. They are a fan for life.

Offer value and have the right call to action
Keep in mind you want to have a variety of topics that can appeal to different needs of subscribers as you decide what content to share.
I would develop a specific 5 part email sequence highlighting three main benefits for my program everyday. I would strategically combine three different benefits that appeal to different personality types.
Also open a new thread for the next email in the middle of each message. Give them a reason to look for tomorrow email. Make the headline so good they it gives a serious fear of missing out effect.
After our 5 message sequence we add to our main message list until launch.
